CONTRACTUAL BASIS
Carriage terms and conventions in force.
CMR Convention
International road carriage between the UK and France is conducted under the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR). CMR governs the contract of carriage, liability limits, claims handling and consignment note requirements.
UK Operator's Licence
Aim Group France operates under an Operator's Licence issued by the Office of the Traffic Commissioner (DVSA). Vehicle maintenance, drivers' hours, and operating centre are subject to DVSA inspection.
Standard trading conditions
UK-side carriage is conducted under our operator's standard conditions of carriage, available on request. Where a BIFA-member trading standard applies, the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions take precedence on the relevant carriage instructions.
Insurance
Public liability, employer's liability and goods-in-transit / CMR cover are in force. Policy summaries and cover levels are issued to B2B customers as part of the carrier set-up pack and on annual renewal.
Need credentials before onboarding?
For new B2B customers we send a full carrier set-up pack — accreditation copies, insurance summary, O-licence detail, standard trading conditions, EORI, and bank details. Request via operations.
